Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone!  Check out some of my favorite finds from this week.

Art Activity Wall
You know how you always have this vision of what your dream house will look like (or does look like if you are that lucky)?  How will it be decorated inside?  How many rooms you will have and what each room will be?  Yeah, I do that all the time.  Ed & I enjoy riding through neighborhoods and picking out houses we like and those we don't and combining all of our favorites.  Well I stumbled upon this picture and decided that ONE DAY, when we have a BIG HOUSE, with a BIG PLAYROOM....I want this!  Only problem is: I hope we can afford that nice, new house with a bonus room before the kids outgrow this.  I picture them away from me, door shut & drawing on the walls and NOT getting in trouble for it.  bliss.  Get the details HERE.
Library Cards
Yeah I'm not a part of a book club and I don't participate in any book swaps but I still thought this idea was super cute!  I love all things paper & packaged so I thought this could still work for some of my good books that I lend to friends every so often.  Okay like maybe once a year but still...
Heck, Nana is a reading teacher so maybe I could make them for her!  Get the scoop HERE.
Sponge Water Bombs
I don't see me giving these to TJ right now for him to "bomb" Deuce with but Deuce would probably love to play with these in the bathtub.  Or the beach when we go next weekend.  Maybe I'll take a bunch of sponges to the beach and have Nana & Auntie help me make them.  Then we can surprise the boys by bombing them.  Super easy instructions HERE.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!  Here are my favorites from this week:

Mini Lasagna Cups
If you like lasagna you HAVE to try this.  You don't have to be an expert cook to make these either.  They are so delicious and so simple to make!  Very few ingredients are required and very little time too!  Perfect recipe for me!  I made them on Wednesday night and Ed really liked them too so we will definitely be adding this to our collection of favorite recipes.  This is a GREAT weeknight meal that is quick to whip up!  Amanda gives great step by step instructions and amazing photos as well.  Find it all HERE.  Side note:  Wonton wrappers are usually in the fresh food section (they are refrigerated).  I had no idea the first time I ever made Crab Rangoon and I walked around aimlessly {mostly in the international section} for awhile until I finally asked someone.

Ruffled Sunglasses Case
Okay, so problem numero uno: I have no idea how to sew.  I have stated before that I can sew a button on a shirt but that's about it.  But if this project doesn't make you want to learn how to sew then I don't know what will.  Amy gives a great detailed tutorial on how to create one of these adorable cases.  I may be begging for my mom's help with her sewing machine to make one of these!  Get the details HERE.

Hanging Jewelry Display
I immediately thought of my mom when I saw this.  This is something she would love to have, but also something that she would love to create.  Simple, yet clean.  Vintage, yet chic.  I love it!  Get the step by step details on how to create one of these beauties with a few items from the hardware store HERE.
I would love to know what YOU are working on!

Friday Favorites

I only have 1 favorite today.  Wanna guess what this is?
Yes. This is my trash.  Full of empty cans of Enfamil formula.  Wanna know why this is my favorite for today?  Because this is the last I will see of them in my house. (at least until bebe numero dos arrives - someday). At roughly $25-$28 a pop, I am happy to be putting that mula into something else every 3-4 days!  Like my gas tank down to RTP and back every day!! That picture represents at least $100 and lasted all of 3 weeks probably.

We're movin' on up like George & Weezy!
Hope all my ladies have a Happy Mother's Day!
And to my own momma, I LOVE YOU!

Friday Favorites

I have GOT to get my hands on some of these!  I think it is so adorable when little boys dress up and especially when they wear ties.  When you go into the kids section at this time of the year all you see is bright colors: hot pink, neon green, bright orange and sunshine yellow.  I love these colors.  And 90 percent of the time they are on dresses....for little girls.  Not for boys.  Take a look at the boys section and you see royal blue and light blue and navy blue and maybe something red.  Don't get me wrong, I love blue.  Especially the baby one that is the color of a certain local team.  But sometimes I wish I had a reason to buy all of the cute dresses.  Ed is fully aware that if we have a little girl someday our bank account will be in serious trouble.  Anyway, I found this adorable etsy shop, the little gentleman's closet, and I will be purchasing some super cute dress up accessories for my little guy!
Here is a simple DIY project from The Sweetest Occasion that will spice up your dining area for next to nothing!  The seasonal switcharoos are endless!
And finally...I know I am not the only one out there with a jewelry issue.  Actually, multiple jewelry issues.  1. I have too much jewelry. 2. I have unorganized jewelry.  3. I don't use any of the jewelry boxes I have. 4. My jewelry is everywhere (the bathroom counter, the nightstand, the dresser, my car...).  How about this decorative way to hang your earrings from Positively Splendid, while accessorizing your room at the same time?  I love it!
This weekend is sure to be jam packed for us.  THIS is happening tomorrow night and Ed is playing in it.  I CANNOT wait to watch him play ball again with all of the boys.  It has been 14 years since they last played together.  And Ed's brother is playing for the 80's team.  Since they are almost 10 years apart, they never really played an organized game against each other.
The Carolina Spring Football game is tomorrow also so we will be sitting outdoors watching football before we finish the night with basketball.  On Sunday, TJ has the NC AAU State Championships in Greensboro so there are 2 more basketball games on Sunday.  Whew!  I am already exhausted just thinking about it...

Oh, and in case you didn't see on my facebook...Deuce & Aja met Reggie Bullock and John Henson last night.  He was in awe... he felt the need to show the boys his ripped abs.
Happy Friday!

Friday Favorites

Check out what I have found for you this week!

Candy Sushi
Yeah, I don't do sushi.  Actually, I've never really tried it so I can't say I don't like it but it kind of weirds me out.  Sometimes I almost feel like I should, just so I can participate in convos with my "posh" friends about California this or that.  (Yeah, that California one is the only thing I know.) But how about THIS alternative from Sisters' Stuff?  I think I could handle it... Swedish Fish, Rise Krispie Treats & Fruit Roll-Ups.
Sprinkle Pancakes
My family loves breakfast.  They could eat it for breakfast, lunch & dinner.  THIS alternative to the traditional pancake from The Sweetest Occasion could entice me to eat breakfast more often.

So I got this info from my girl Carrie.  Did you know that Chick-fil-A at Southpoint has a Drive-Thru valet service?  Yeah, I googled it and they offer it at some of the Florida locations too.  Trust, I will be checking on the Greensboro stores.  You go through the drive-thru and order your food.  By the time you park your car, unload the kiddos and get inside the staff has already set up your table with all of your food laid out and high chairs if needed.  Seriously?  I love me some chick-fil-a!  That's why I'll pay an extra dollar or two for my value meal for some real chicken and some real service!!  HOLLA!

And look what went out in the mail today... I am so excited!  Well about the party, not the actual turning one part.  Just a sneak peak.  I want them to arrive in the mail before I show it to the world!  There is still something about getting mail the old fashioned way that I just love!
AND, last but not least...
Deuce took 4 steps last night.  On multiple occasions.  Yes.  So serious.
Aja took 2.  On the same day.
Happy or Sad?
I can't decide.

We are off to visit my dad in VA this weekend!  I'm going to show Ed where I was born and where I used to live.  We're heading to Busch Gardens as long as the weather holds up.  Ed hasn't been since high school and I haven't been in about 5 years or so.  AND we have good friends from high school that now live right near my dad so we plan to meet up with them.

I'm outta here!

Friday Favorites

I have come to the conclusion that all of my craftiness is inhibited by my inability to sew.  1. I have no sewing machine, only a small sewing kit for putting Ed's buttons back on his shirts.  2. Even if I had a sewing machine, I have no idea how to use it.  Again, I only know how to sew buttons on shirts.  3. Even if I had a sewing machine AND I knew how to use it, I'm not sure where I would find the time or energy to actually sew anything (ie: I was not just in bed, but asleep, by 9:30 last night and missed even the tip off of the Dook game.  Thank goodness my husband woke me up at 2am to tell me they had lost!)  So I am going to start sharing sewing projects with my momma (hey mom!) and maybe encourage her to use her new sewing machine to make stuff for me (I'll allow her to make stuff for herself too, of course!).  Not really sure when she'll find the time either, but it's worth a shot.

With that being said, I thought I would share some of my favorite things from out in blog land right now.  It's so east to get lost in the blogosphere world of clicking through from one blog to another to another and another

I am in LOVE with this idea.
Chick-sicles & Love Birds
Suzanne, over at Just Another Hang Up, has been kind enough to provide a tutorial & patterns for these cute little guys.  They are stuffed rice pads used for heating/cooling.  I foresee boo-boos in my future so I want to be fully prepared with some of these bad boys!

Who knew a cute Placemat could be so handy?
I am totally digging these clutches made out of super cute placemats by Crafty Girls Workshop.
And with plenty of time left to craft before Easter, My Garden of Eden, has a tutorial for these pastel jellybean topiaries. What an easy way to dress up the front stoop or the foyer!
Anyway, as I mentioned yesterday, we are off to Charlotte for TJ's tournament this weekend so I guess I'll spend the weekend sitting on bleachers, shouting cheering like their playing in the NCAA championship and attempting to wrangle in an almost-one-year-old, all the while envisioning the craft projects I will get to one day.

And I'll leave you with one more image.  My baby boy in his football stance, yet again.  This time with his hand in position, ready to strike at any given moment.  Check out that game face.
Happy Friday!
