Random.

I have been trying really hard to make to-do lists for every single aspect of my life. Work. Housework. Personal Goals. etc.... I even have a list of blog posts that I must put out there so I don't forget what happened during this time in my life. But I don't think it will be today. Today I just feel like putting random pictures on here.
 I love this.
The day before Thanksgiving we went to Mom's house to help do some stuff for Thanksgiving. We took Deuce for a stroll in the wagon. He loves riding in that thing.
Most of you know that there are horses in the pasture to the right of my parents house. Well Maggie Mae, the miniature horse, has figured out how to get out of the electric fence (when it is not turned on). She kept coming over to moms yard to eat their grass. Deuce was obsessed.
He was really good with her and really gentle and stayed up close to her head like we told him too.
He fed her a lot too.
Nana knows that Deuce will be playing basketball come summertime so she got him a goal for her house too. It's his favorite thing to do over there.
And he finally figured out how to push the pedals on the tricycle.
He helped Nana bake cookies too.
This is the Thanksgiving spread that Grandma Geer put together. Wow.
Over on the cow/ram at the last football game of the season.
He went to every single football game this year and was awesome.
He loved every second of the games.
We were sad that the season was over.
This happens a lot in our house.
Deuce giggles. Daddy gets a bicep work out.
I let Deuce play games on my phone and he has figured out the camera too. I found about 50 different variations of this shot in my phone. Most of them didn't even show any of his face.
I sent this picture to Carrie before Christmas because she has pictures of her boys doing the same thing. We don't have steps at our house so we've never had this issue.
This was at my dad's house. He got real quiet and then started making some stressful "mommy" calls.
He laughed though when he saw me laughing.
The "HOT" sign was on so you know I had to stop...
 Weston's 3rd birthday party.
 Wawa and Toodles.
More from our holidays coming soon!

nc state fair 2012.

Yeah, I'm taking you back a couple of months here.
This was in October. The 2012 NC State Fair.
Me and Rebecca took the boys one Thursday morning. We were both off of work and thought it wouldn't be too crowded during the week. The boys had a great time.
Deuce loved watching the trains.
After visiting all of the livestock, we ran into a talking school bus.
The bus was super cool and it talked to the boys.
They were amazed.
Next as we were walking through all of the food, I heard some motown music playing in the distance. I knew Deuce would love it so we ventured in that direction. Once they started playing Ain't Too Proud to Beg Deuce was begging me to get out of his stroller. So I let him and he didn't think twice about walking up the aisle to the front of the stage.
You can see that he put on quite the show with his dance moves.
After a few minutes, Chase went right on up there with him.
We let them dance away until they started kicking the mums up there by the stage.
Yeah, then it was time to go.
We stopped to grab some food.
Then we headed to the Toddler Zone to let them check out some rides.
They loved the train that probably moved at about .02 mph. Seriously it was slower than a turtle but they loved it.
To say they were worn out is an understatement. They both fell asleep pretty much before we got out of the parking lot.

Hello 2013.

After a 2+ month hiatus from blogging, I am back. I had almost a month off from work for the holidays and it was hard for me to even crack open a computer while away from work. I'm not sure that I even opened my computer at home more than twice. Being able to check email, facebook, instagram, etc... all from the phone really eliminates the need to get on the computer while away from work. At least for me anyway. So while I'm sure I'll be kicking myself down the road for not staying on top of things during the 2012 holidays, it was nice to give it a break. I'm going to try and post some of the stuff we did over the break so bear with me as I go backwards and all out of order.

2013 has started out with a lot of changes for our family. I found out in October that my department at work was preparing to undergo a pretty substantial reorganization, effective January 7th. This reorganization was key for me as it opened up a full time position. Just to take you back, I went part time in August of 2011 because I was a temporary employee and the PT job opening was the only thing available. If I wanted to get in permanent with the company I had to settle for PT. While part time salary is not ideal, I was able to finagle our budget and compress my work hours into 3 days. So for almost a year and a half I only worked Monday-Wednesday and had 4 days weekends. Pretty awesome. It also allowed me to have an invaluable amount of time with Deuce before he goes off to school for the next 20 years. My goal has always been to work full time but I was willing to sacrifice with hopes of being full time eventually. My employer has known that I wanted to be full time all along so that was immediately worked into the reorganization. Along with full time I also received a salary grade bump which made going full time all that more exciting. So yes, I am back to working 5 days a week (I was able to secure working from home on Fridays though) and things with my job couldn't get much better right now. Having gone through a heartbreaking layoff, I am more than appreciative of the opportunity I have been given.

So with full time work, comes full time preschool. Deuce started preschool last Monday for the first time ever. And he is loving every second of it. I will do a separate post on school but he really enjoys it. While these changes seem to affect only me and Deuce, the parental responsibilities have totally shifted as well.
The school has webcams!
Because Deuce is in preschool in Greensboro, Ed is now the taxi service instead of me. The school is about a mile from Ed's job so Ed drops him off in the mornings and picks him up as well. This has helped my commute from Greensboro to RTP tremendously. I am able to change my route to work since I no longer have to go into Chapel Hill to drop Deuce off and pick him up. I would say it has cut off around 30 minutes of my commute each way. It's wonderful. That's an hour less per day of being in the car. I make sure to help get Deuce ready in the mornings and put him to bed at night so we still have our one on one time but Ed is doing a great job adjusting to his new responsibilities. Not that I ever doubted him or anything. It's just that Deuce was always with me and now he's always with Ed. It was bound to happen with a boy anyway.

During December we made a trip to the mountains, made a trip to Virginia, had an awesome Christmas Eve party and spent a lot of time at the gym playing basketball. I've got posts and pictures for all of it. They'll be coming soon! It feels good to be back.
